The 3rd annual Rotary Free Skate Day sponsored by the Manhattan Noon club and Konza Rotary club was a huge success.

The Free Skate Day on Martin Luther King Day was a huge success!  Over 724 people attended this year, which is up over 40% for the attendance last year of 511 skaters.  In addition, 606 cups of hot cocoa were served.  Thank you to all of the volunteers from the Noon Club and the Konza Club and to city staff.  The day would not have been possible without the great number of volunteers who took an hour or more out of the day to volunteer for a great event.  Chris Nelson, Recreation Supervisor with Parks & Recreation had this to say, " Overall, a GREAT DAY!! Rotary volunteers were fantastic and made the day easier on myself and Ice Rink staff.  Enough can’t be said for their hospitality and kindness."  In addition, during my volunteer time, I received numerous "thank you" comments from appreciative skaters!
